Citrus Fresh Marinade + Dressing

It’s like sunshine in a bowl.

Citrus Fresh is my favorite Young Living Vitality Oil.

This blend of mandarin, tangerine, orange, lemon, grapefruit and spearmint is fruity and earthy at the same time. When I diffuse it, it makes the whole house smell like liquid sunshine, and in the winter months (aka - 6 months of cold and all the shades of gray), this citrus blend brightens my mood.

Now that it is summer, it’s grilling and salad season. Rather than have you make two separate dressings - one for the meat and one for the salad - I created one that doubles as both. I love this as a marinade for beef and shrimp. When used as a salad dressing, I like to use a crisp butter lettuce with mandarin segments, pears, goat cheese, pecans and grilled chicken. It is a little sweet thanks to the honey, so feel free to experiment with different meats, fruits, and veggies.

Enjoy! Summer food is here!

Citrus Fresh Marinade + Dressing

  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar - I have tried this with a fig balsamic and had great results. Feel free to experiment, but you want that deep, rich flavor.

  • 1 chopped spring onion

  • 1 tsp. honey

  • 1/2 tsp. salt

  • 1/4 tsp. ground pepper

  • 3 drops Young Living Citrus Fresh Vitality

If using as a dressing, just pour the ingredients into a dressing shaker and mix well. Serve with a fresh salad.

If using as a marinade, mix the ingredients together. In a shallow dish, lay out your meat or veggies. Pour the marinade over the meat/veggies, cover and refrigerate for 2-3 hours. Take out when you are ready to grill, and enjoy!
