Ginger Apple Brew

You guys have probably heard me say before that I am NOT a pumpkin spice girl.

I’m not. When you grow up in Upstate NY and are surrounded by farms, farmers, and harvest festivals, you know….pumpkins taste like dirt and squishy, sad nothingness. They don’t belong in coffees and especially don’t belong in drinks like beers or ciders. Now, apple spice I love.

Ditch the pumpkin, keep the spice. Particularly cinnamon and ginger. I love these two for their health benefits and ginger always leaves my stomach feeling warm and toasty.

When Trader Joe’s came out with a pumpkin ginger brew, I thought “What’s the worst that can happen? It tastes like a pumpkin.” It didn’t. It was fabulous. It is spicy, bubbly, and has lots of ginger. I mixed it with a local apple cider and some citrus oils for a delicious Autumn-inspired mocktail. Enjoy!

Ginger Apple Brew

2 oz. Apple Cider

1 drop Young Living Orange Vitality oil

1 drop Young Living Lemon Vitality oil

2 oz. Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Pie Spiced Ginger Brew

In a tumbler, combine the ingredients and serve chilled with an apple slice garnish. If more than one drop comes out of the Vitality oils, that is totally fine. Citrus oils are not as intense as an herbaceous oil like oregano, so you will be fine.
